- A funeral establishment that performs embalming shall:
- Maintain a sanitary preparation room with sanitary flooring, drainage, and ventilation;
- Employ universal biological hazard precautions;
- Employ reasonable care to minimize the risk of transmitting communicable diseases from human remains;
- Be equipped with instruments and supplies necessary to protect the health and safety of the public and employees of the funeral establishment; and
- Transport human remains in a safe and sanitary manner.
- A funeral establishment that transports human remains shall:
- Use a motor vehicle that is appropriate for the transportation of human remains; and
- Transport human remains in a safe and sanitary manner.
- A funeral establishment shall remove any implanted device in human remains before transporting the body to a crematory.
