(a) The Commissioner may deny, refuse to renew, or may suspend or may revoke a license for any one or more of the following grounds:
-
(1) Fraud or wilful misrepresentation in application for or in obtaining a license;

(2) Wilfully and knowingly violating any of the provisions of this chapter by the licensee or any of his employees;
-
(3) If the licensee has been adjudged guilty of the commission of a crime involving moral turpitude;
-
(4) A false statement by the licensee that any person is or has been in his employ;
-
(5) If the licensee is found guilty of wilful betrayal of a professional secret;
-
(6) If the licensee is incompetent, or is guilty of conduct against the interest of the general public, or has been convicted of a felony in the Virgin Islands or any other jurisdiction and has not had his civil rights restored;

(7) Failure of the licensee to maintain in full force and effect the surety bond referred to in section 1309 of this chapter;

(8) Upon the disqualification or insolvency of the sureties of the bond referred to in section 1309 of this chapter, unless such licensee files a new bond with sufficient sureties within thirty days after notice from the department or of the surety company’s home state;

(9) If the licensee impersonated, permitted, or aided and abetted an employee to impersonate, a law enforcement officer or any employee of the Virgin Islands, United States, or any political subdivision thereof;

(10) Willfully failed or refused to render to a client services or a report as agreed between the parties and for which compensation has been paid or tendered in accordance with the agreement of the parties;

(11) Committed assault, battery, or kidnapping; or used force or violence on any person except in self-defense or in the defense of a client;
-
(12) Knowingly violated or advised, encouraged or assisted the violation of any court order or injunction in the course of business as a licensee;

(13) Acted as a runner for any attorney;
-
(14) Committed any act which is a ground for a denial of an application for license under this chapter.

- If committed by the applicant prior to issuance of license, the foregoing shall be grounds for the refusal by the Commissioner to issue such license.
-
(b) Upon revocation or suspension of license, the licensee shall forthwith return the license which was suspended.

(c) The Commissioner shall hold as confidential any information of a personal nature or that relating to the conduct of the trade or profession.
