- All direct recording electronic (DRE) units and related equipment, when not in use, shall be properly stored and secured under conditions as shall be specified by the Secretary of State.
- The superintendent shall store the units and related equipment under his or her supervision or shall designate a person or entity who shall provide secure storage of such units and related equipment when it is not in use at a primary or election. The superintendent shall provide compensation for the safe storage and care of such units and related equipment if the units and related equipment are stored by a person or entity other than the superintendent.
