    1. The superintendent shall be the principal executive officer of the school. The superintendent shall be the purchasing agent for the board of trustees and, under such rules as the board of trustees may prescribe, shall have charge of the premises, property, and students. With the approval of the board of trustees, pursuant to section 13 of article XII of the state constitution, the superintendent shall appoint all other officers and employees in the school and fix the compensation for all nonteaching employees. All officers and employees, in the discharge of their duties, shall be wholly subordinate to the superintendent, and all orders to them shall come from or through the superintendent or by his or her authority. The superintendent shall see that all officers, agents, and employees of the school faithfully discharge their duties, and the superintendent shall be held directly responsible to the board of trustees for the economy, efficiency, and success of the school’s internal management.

  2. Publications of the school circulated in quantity outside of the executive branch shall be issued in accordance with the provisions of section 24-1-136, C.R.S.
