- Pursuant to this article, it is the function of local government to:
- Designate matters of state interest after public hearing, taking into consideration:
- The intensity of current and foreseeable development pressures; and
- Applicable guidelines for designation issued by the applicable state agencies;
- Hold hearings on applications for permits for development in areas of state interest and for activities of state interest;
- Grant or deny applications for permits for development in areas of state interest and for activities of state interest;
- Receive recommendations from state agencies and other local governments relating to matters of state interest;
- Send recommendations to other local governments relating to matters of state interest.
