Sec. 1.7. (a) Except as otherwise expressly authorized or required under this title, a filing by a person with a commission, the election division, an election board, or a county voter registration office may not be made by fax or electronic mail.

(b) A petition of nomination filed with a county voter registration office under IC 3-8-2, IC 3-8-2.5, IC 3-8-3, or IC 3-8-6 or a petition to place a public question on the ballot, or any other petition filed that requires the county voter registration office to certify the validity of signatures, may not contain the electronic signature, digital signature, digitized signature, or photocopied signature of a voter.
