The ombudsman and employees of the office of ombudsman shall be held harmless, including legal fees and costs, if any, in any claim, demand, or suit for damages resulting from acts or omissions committed in the discharge of his or her duties for any action taken under this article if the action was taken in good faith, was within the scope of the ombudsman’s authority, and did not constitute willful or reckless misconduct.
