- The provisions of this subchapter shall not apply to:
-
(a) dentists or nurses when practicing their profession within the purview of the statutes applicable to their respective professions;
-
(b) duly commissioned or appointed practitioners in the service of the United States Government with respect to the performance of any official duties; or

(c) physicians and surgeons furnishing medical assistance in cases of emergency.
