- The board may issue a training permit to an applicant who is a graduate of an approved physical therapy program who is approved to take the physical therapy licensing examination or who has taken the examination but not yet received the examination results.
- The board may issue a training permit to a foreign trained applicant who is a graduate from a physical therapy program outside the United States and its territories and who is approved to take the physical therapy licensing examination.
- The board may issue a training permit to a reinstatement applicant whose license to practice as a physical therapist or license to practice as a physical therapist assistant has been expired for more than two years.
- The training permit shall allow the holder thereof to work only under the direct supervision of a physical therapist who has been approved by the board and has practiced for not less than one year prior to assuming the supervisory role.
- Training permits are governed by rules and regulations authorized under this article and approved by the board.

The 2019 amendment, effective July 1, 2019, substituted “this article” for “this chapter” in subsection (e).
