§ 2021. Mutilation and disinterment of dead body

(a) Whoever mutilates, disinters or removes from the place of sepulture the dead body of a human being, without authority of law, shall be imprisoned not more than 5 years. (b) The provisions of this section shall not apply to any person who removes the dead body of a relative or friend for reinterment.

§ 2022. Burial in other than cemetery

Whoever, without permission of competent authority, buries or inters the dead body of any human being or any human remains in any place other than a cemetery or place of burial, shall be fined not more than $500 or imprisoned not more than 1 year, or both.
