§ 101. Definitions

As used in this chapter— (a) The term “rum” means any alcoholic distillate from the fermented juice of sugarcane, sugarcane syrup, sugarcane molasses, or other sugarcane by-products distilled in such manner that the distillate possesses the taste, aroma, and characteristics generally attributed to rum; and includes mixtures solely of such distillates. § 15. Posting of licenses

In every place of business operated by virtue of a license issued under this chapter, the license shall be posted in a conspicuous place within the establishment for inspection by the police and notice to the public.

§ 16. Payment of duties and taxes

The sale or possession of any fermented liquors or distilled spirits on which the duties or taxes required by law have not been paid shall constitute cause for immediate revocation of license in addition to such other penalties as may be legally imposed.

(a) Except as otherwise provided in this title, each license issued pursuant to this title shall be effective for a license year expiring on the thirty-first day of December following the date of its issuance.
