§ 49-50-1006. Branch Schools of School for the Deaf
This state, acting through the state board of education and the commissioner of education, shall establish, maintain, and operate a school in Madison County for the hearing impaired children of west Tennessee. There shall also be a branch school of the school for the deaf located in Davidson County.
§ 49-50-1007. Sharing of Same President, Director of Schools, or Officers Prohibited
The Tennessee School for the Blind, the Tennessee School for the Deaf, the West Tennessee School for the Deaf, and the Alvin C. York Agricultural Institute shall not share the same president, director of schools, or officers at the same time.

Appropriations in the amounts to be determined annually by the general assembly are authorized for the purposes of carrying out this part. The Tennessee public television council, in accordance with § 49-50-905(d)(3), has the responsibility for submitting budgetary requests for appropriations for the stations to the governor and the proper committees of the general assembly.
