Section 1331.

1331. Members of the committee shall not receive any compensation. (Amended by Stats. 2007, Ch. 558, Sec. 2. Effective January 1, 2008. Repealed on date prescribed in Section 1338.)

Section 1332.

1332. The committee may request staff support and facilities for its activities from the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the department may provide that support and be reimbursed for the cost of this support. 1334. (a) The beautification and enhancement of an existing memorial on state grounds is hereby authorized. Section 1335.

1335. With respect to the design and construction of an enhanced memorial, the committee may do all of the following: (a) Establish a schedule for the design, construction, and dedication of the enhanced memorial. (b) Implement procedures to solicit designs for beautifying and enhancing the memorial and devise a selection process for the choice of the design. […]

Section 1335.5.

1335.5. With respect to the design and construction of an enhanced memorial, the Department of General Services, in consultation with the committee, shall seek to accomplish the following goals: (a) Review the preliminary design plans to identify potential maintenance concerns. (b) Compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (Public Law 101-336) and other safety concerns. […]

Section 1336.

1336. The design of the enhanced memorial shall be as politically neutral as possible. (Added by Stats. 1993, Ch. 1221, Sec. 1. Effective January 1, 1994. Repealed on date prescribed in Section 1338.)

1338. The committee shall notify the Governor and the Secretary of Veterans Affairs when beautification and enhancement of the memorial pursuant to this chapter is complete.
