Section 13-201 – “Advisory Council” Defined
In this subtitle, “Advisory Council” means the State Advisory Council on Health and Wellness.

(a) The Advisory Council consists of 34 voting members appointed by the Secretary. (a) A member of the Advisory Council: (1) May not receive compensation; but (2) Is entitled to reimbursement for expenses under the Standard State Travel Regulations, as provided in the State budget. The Advisory Council shall: (1) Promote evidence–based programs for healthy lifestyles and the prevention, early detection, and treatment of chronic disease; and (2) Make recommendations to the Department related to chronic disease prevention, health, and wellness.
The Secretary shall adopt regulations governing the role and operations of the Advisory Council.
