A comprehensive rehabilitation facility shall meet the requirements of this subtitle before the facility may provide: (1) Comprehensive physical rehabilitation services; or (2) Any specialized rehabilitation program.
(a) This section does not apply to a special rehabilitation hospital that is licensed under Subtitle 3 of this title. (b) Any person that provides or holds himself out as providing comprehensive physical rehabilitation services on an out–patient basis shall obtain a comprehensive rehabilitation license before the person may provide comprehensive physical rehabilitation services in the State. A comprehensive rehabilitation facility shall meet any standard that the Secretary adopts by regulation.
The Secretary may inspect a comprehensive rehabilitation facility to assure that the facility meets the requirements of this subtitle.
The Secretary may revoke a license issued under this subtitle or may revoke the authority to provide comprehensive physical rehabilitation services for any health care facility or person that does not meet each requirement of this subtitle or any regulation adopted by the Secretary under this subtitle.
(a) A person may not hold himself out as providing a complete array of rehabilitation services unless the person provides comprehensive physical rehabilitation services. A person who violates any provision of this subtitle is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $5,000, or imprisonment not exceeding 1 year, or both.
