Section 21-501 – Short Title
This title may be cited as the “Maryland Environmental Health Specialists Act”.
Section 21-502 – Termination of Title
Subject to the evaluation and reestablishment provisions of the Program Evaluation Act, the provisions of this title and of any rule or regulation adopted under this title shall terminate and be of no effect after July 1, 2027.
Section 20-405 – Penalties
A person who violates any provision of this title is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to: (1) A fine not exceeding $1,000 for a first offense; and (2) A fine not exceeding $5,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 6 months or both for any subsequent violation of the same provision.
Section 21-306 – Waiver of Examination of Persons Registered in Other State
(a) Subject to subsection (b) of this section, the Board may waive any examination requirement of this title for an applicant who is licensed or registered as an environmental health specialist or its equivalent in another state. Section 20-501 – Short Title
This title may be cited as the “Maryland Certification of Residential Child Care Program Professionals Act”.
Section 20-502 – Termination of Title
Subject to the evaluation and reestablishment provisions of the Program Evaluation Act, this title and all regulations adopted under this title shall terminate and be of no effect after July 1, 2024.
Section 21-102 – Right to Practice Health Occupation Not Limited
This title does not prohibit an individual from practicing any other profession or occupation that the individual is authorized to practice under the laws of the State.
Section 21-201 – Board Established
There is a State Board of Environmental Health Specialists in the Department.
Section 21-202 – Membership
(a) (1) The Board consists of 9 members appointed by the Governor with the advice of the Secretary, and with the advice and consent of the Senate. Section 21-203 – Officers
(a) From among its members, the Board shall elect a chairman, a vice chairman, and a secretary once every 2 years. (b) The Board shall determine: (1) The manner of election of officers; and (2) The duties of each officer.
