NRS 125D.020 – Definitions.

As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires, the words and terms defined in NRS 125D.030 to 125D.130, inclusive, have the meanings ascribed to them in those sections. (Added to NRS by 2007, 232)

NRS 125D.050 – “Child custody determination” defined.

“Child custody determination” means a judgment, decree or other order of a court providing for the legal custody, physical custody or visitation with respect to a child. The term includes a permanent, temporary, initial and modification order. (Added to NRS by 2007, 232)

NRS 125D.060 – “Child custody proceeding” defined.

“Child custody proceeding” means a proceeding in which legal custody, physical custody or visitation with respect to a child is at issue. The term includes a proceeding for divorce, dissolution of marriage, separation, neglect, abuse, dependency, guardianship, paternity, termination of parental rights or protection from domestic violence. NRS 125D.070 – “Court” defined.

“Court” means an entity authorized pursuant to the law of a state to establish, enforce or modify a child custody determination. (Added to NRS by 2007, 232)

NRS 125D.090 – “Record” defined.

“Record” means information that is inscribed on a tangible medium or that is stored in an electronic or other medium and is retrievable in perceivable form. (Added to NRS by 2007, 232)

NRS 125D.100 – “State” defined.

“State” means a state of the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands or any territory or insular possession subject to the jurisdiction of the United States. The term includes a federally recognized Indian tribe or nation. (Added to NRS by 2007, 232)

NRS 125D.110 – “Travel document” defined.

“Travel document” means records relating to a travel itinerary, including travel tickets, passes, reservations for transportation or accommodations. The term does not include a passport or visa. (Added to NRS by 2007, 232)

NRS 125D.140 – Applicability of other law.

NRS 125A.275, 125A.285 and 125A.295 apply to cooperation and communication among courts in proceedings pursuant to the provisions of this chapter. (Added to NRS by 2007, 233)
