NRS 455C.010 – Definitions.

As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires, the words and terms defined in NRS 455C.020 to 455C.085, inclusive, have the meanings ascribed to them in those sections. (Added to NRS by 2001, 1048; A 2021, 1960)

NRS 455C.020 – “Boiler” defined.

“Boiler” means a closed vessel in which water is heated, steam is generated, steam is superheated, or any combination thereof, under pressure or vacuum, for use external to the boiler by the direct application of heat. NRS 455C.060 – “Elevator” defined.

“Elevator” includes, without limitation, an elevator, dumbwaiter, escalator, moving walk, wheelchair lift or related equipment. (Added to NRS by 2001, 1049)

NRS 455C.085 – “Water heater” defined.

“Water heater” means an appliance that is: 1. Designed primarily to supply hot water for domestic or commercial purposes; and 2. Equipped with automatic controls which limit water temperature to a maximum of 210 degrees Fahrenheit (99 degrees Centigrade). (Added to NRS by 2021, 1959)

NRS 455C.090 – Inapplicability of chapter to certain water heaters.

The provisions of this chapter and any regulations adopted pursuant thereto do not apply to a water heater if, with regard to the water heater, none of the following limitations is exceeded: 1.
