If an inmate is committed to the custody of the Commissioner of Correction or transferred to another local correctional facility: (1) the inmate’s record of accrued diminution credits shall be forwarded to the receiving correctional facility; and (2) the receiving correctional facility shall apply the credits to reduce the inmate’s term of confinement.
If an inmate is entitled to a diminution of the inmate’s term of confinement under this subtitle and is transferred to a hospital or mental institution, the inmate may not be denied credit authorized by this subtitle.
