(a) A person may not use or possess a machine gun in the commission or attempted commission of a crime of violence. (b) A person who violates this section is guilty of a felony and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 20 years.

This subtitle shall be interpreted and construed as to effectuate its general purpose to make uniform the law of those states that enact it.
This subtitle may be cited as the Uniform Machine Gun Act.
