Section 19-701 – Scope of Subtitle

    This subtitle applies only to:         (1)    Calvert County;         (2)    Harford County; and         (3)    St. Mary’s County.

Section 19-702 – Authority to Borrow Money for Public Libraries

    (a)    The governing body of a county may borrow money to pay any of the capital construction costs of public library buildings in the county.     (b)    The County Commissioners of St. Mary’s County may borrow money to pay any of the costs of preservation for public libraries in the county.

Section 19-703 – Evidence of Indebtedness

    The governing body of a county may:         (1)    issue bonds, notes, or other evidence of indebtedness to repay money borrowed under this subtitle; and         (2)    impose a tax to pay the principal of and interest on the evidences of indebtedness.
