As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires, the words and terms defined in NRS 277B.030 to 277B.070, inclusive, have the meanings ascribed to them in those sections. (Added to NRS by 2011, 745)
“Authority” means an inland port authority created pursuant to this chapter. (Added to NRS by 2011, 745)
“Board” means the board of directors of an authority. (Added to NRS by 2011, 745)
“Inland port” means an area located away from traditional borders but having direct access to highway, railway and air transport facilities and, if applicable, intermodal facilities. (Added to NRS by 2011, 745)
“Office” means the Office of Economic Development created by NRS 231.043. (Added to NRS by 2011, 745)
“Participating entity” means the board of county commissioners of a county or the governing body of an incorporated city. (Added to NRS by 2011, 745)
The Legislature hereby finds and declares that the creation of an inland port: 1. Is essential to: (a) Develop and diversify the economy of the State; (b) Provide employment opportunities for Nevadans; and (c) Develop and expand transportation and commerce in this State. 2.
